Social Welfare Corporation Fukudenkai was established in 1876 by Buddhist sects that began taking care of orphans and fosters at temples.
It operates a group home for children, welfare-type facilities for handicapped children, and facilities for the elderly in Tokyo.
Fukudenkai’s deep relationship with Poland dates back to the acceptance of 375 Siberian Children who arrived in Japan in 1920.
After devoted nursing, the children, who were initially weak in physical strength, regained their spirits and all were able to return to Poland safely.
In 2010, Madam Jadwiga Maria Rodowicz-Czechowska, the then Polish Ambassador to Japan, discovered Fukudenkai by chance while morning jogging.
She had known the history of Siberian Children and Fukudenkai, so she immediately contacted Fukudenkai.
This triggered the exchange between Fukudenkai and Poland again.

ASAGAO sp. z o.o. has established in 2019 in Cracow, Poland.
Commissioned by Fukudenkai, we are managing this website and working as the Polish-side secretariat for events commemorating the centenary of the arrival of Siberian Children in Japan.
We are engaged in activities that focus on “personal exchange” such as support for companies aiming to expand into both Japan and Poland, and holding programs and events.
Our projects are conducted in cooperation with Japan-Poland Youth Association, which is based in Japan, and features activities involving many students who are interested in both countries.
