Signing of Cooperation Agreement between Municipalities Related to the history of Polish Siberian Children and Tsuruga City

On July 31, 2025, during Mayor Yonezawa’s visit to Poland, a signing ceremony was held for a Letter of Intent concerning cooperation between Tsuruga City, Wejherowo County, West Warsaw County, and the town of Celestynów.

The signing ceremony took place at the residence of the Ambassador of Japan to Poland, where officials from the mentioned municipalities, descendants of Polish Siberian Children, and other related individuals gathered.

Tsuruga City and the above three Polish local governments are connected through the history of the Polish Siberian Children who came to Japan, and they expressed their intention to cooperate in passing down this history to future generations and promoting exchanges, especially among young people.

After the signing, the Płock Children’s Choir and Dance Group performed songs from both Japan and Poland.
