The opening ceremony of a panel exhibition

On Friday, 13th August, 2021, the opening ceremony of a panel exhibition about the Siberian Children celebrating the centenary of their arrival in Japan was organized in Krakow, Poland. The exhibition is planned to promote the history of the Siberian Children to the Polish people. It started in Krakow and then move to Gdansk, Wejherowo (where the children spent their time after returning to Poland) and some other places in Poland. In Krakow, the exhibition is held at Plac Axentowicza from August 13 to 27th.

The opening ceremony started with the greeting from Ambassador Miyajima, Embassy of  Japan in Poland as well as opening address from the Director of Social Welfare Corporation Fukudenkai, Mr. Ota. Following the greetings, there was a ribbon cutting ceremony by the Director of Manggha Museum in Krakow, Ms. Bogna Dziechciaruk – Maj, Vice-Director, Ms. Katarzyna Nowak, and Mr. Teruo Matsumoto together with Ambassador Miyajima.

Ms. Nowak mentioned that the exhibition is a big step toward promoting the history of the Siberian Children and it is very important for all of us here to be involved.
